Marie Curie has been added to the charity roster of Coinstar, which operates more than 2,000 kiosks where coins can be changed to cash at supermarkets.
Through its kiosks customers were already able to donate to eight charities including Unicef, BBC Children in Need and the British Heart Foundation.
Coinstar has announced that Marie Curie has become its ninth charity partner and its first end-of-life care partner.
It said: “We're very happy to welcome our newest charity partner Marie Curie UK. Please support their incredible work and donate today.
“Every donation helps Marie Curie continue to provide care and support to people living with terminal illness, and to those close to them, when it matters most.”
Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tescos are among supermarkets where Coinstar machines are located.
“Many of us have supported a loved one through terminal illness and end of life, and can appreciate the incredible support that charities like Marie Curie offer to patients and their families,” added Coinstar UK business development manager Sarah Chappell.
Marie Curie UK said that the partnership launched in March and “we’ll also remain available as a charity option all year round” via Coinstar machines.
British Red Cross, Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, The Children’s Society and WWF are among other charities supported by Coinstar in the UK.
