Pharmacy group’s garden party raises £320k for global poverty relief funder

Pyramid Pharmacy Group’s annual garden party has raised £320,839 for One Kind Act, which funds health, poverty relief and education projects across the world.

The money raised at this year’s event, which was held at the home of the pharmacy group’s owners the Bhogul family, is a “significant” increase on last year’s tally of £80,000. It also surpasses a fundraising target of £100,000 set this year.

The event included raffles, a charity auction and guest pledges. Around 220 guests attended, including former England international cricketer Mark Ramrakash.

The highest charity auction bid of the day was of £14,000 for a Rolex Submariner.

One Kind Act distributes funds to good causes in need of financial support for their projects.

“We are incredibly proud of what we have been able to achieve for One Kind Act” said Pyramid Pharmacy Group chief executive Raj Bhogal.

“For us, community pharmacy has always been about more than healthcare. It's about looking after people and doing what we can to support the communities around us.”

“Hosting this event was a privilege for our family and for everyone at Pyramid Pharmacy Group. Seeing everyone come together for One Kind Act was incredibly special, and we're grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success.”
