Renewable energy firm to fundraise for health charity

Renewable energy firm Solmatix has named Northern Ireland Chest & Stroke as its charity partner.

The partnership will see the County Antrim headquartered company’s staff fundraise for the health charity as well as raise awareness for the needs of people in Northern Ireland living with chest, heart and stroke conditions.

The announcement has been made as the charity celebrates its 80th anniversary.

“Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke is a charity that means a great deal to me personally, which made this a very important decision for us as a business,” said Solmatix managing director Neville Bell.

“Like many people across Northern Ireland, my family has seen first-hand the impact that chest, heart and stroke conditions can have on individuals and the people around them.

“The support the charity provides to local families is invaluable, and we are proud to be able to play a small part in helping that work continue.”

The charity’s corporate fundraiser Eamonn Baker added: “Almost 90% of our income comes from public donations however, making fundraising efforts like Solmatix’s critical.

“Without this support we would be unable to provide life-changing care and support services, fund ground breaking research and work with schools, communities and workplaces to help prevent future chest, heart and stroke illnesses.”
