Skipton Building Society names Refuge as its next charity partner

Domestic abuse survivors’ charity Refuge has been selected to be the next charity partner of the Skipton Building Society.

The charity was chosen following a vote of the building society’s members at its AGM.

The partnership runs for three years and will focus on helping the charity to tackle financial abuse suffered by survivors.

“We can’t wait to support their incredible work delivering financial freedom for survivors of domestic abuse,” said the building society.

“Refuge is absolutely over the moon to be Skipton’s next charity partner,” said the charity.

“Knowing that Skipton members have chosen to support Refuge for the next three years is an incredible show of solidarity with survivors of domestic abuse and their families.

“Economic abuse traps so many survivors, in really impossible situations.

“But this partnership will provide thousands of women across the country with the tools and the confidence to be financially free and independent and give them the chance to move on with their lives. So we are really excited about what we know we’re going to achieve together. “

In addition, the building society will donate £30,000 to Age UK, based on giving 50p for every eligible member who voted at its AGM.
