A firm that uses tech to encourage active play has partnered with children’s charity NSPCC on promoting online safety among families.
Nex Playground says it has launched the partnership to use the charity’s “expertise in keeping children safe to help parents and carers manage family screen time with greater confidence”.
This includes the launch of a 10 Tips for Meaningful Family Screen Time, which has been developed by the two organisations. This features advice on choosing games to play to “get everyone moving”.
The partnership also includes financial support for the children’s charity.
“The tips reflect what the NSPCC hears every day. Childline often hears from children looking for advice on gaming and screen time, from staying safe online to the benefits of playing with others,” said the tech firm.
Its president and head of international Tom Kang said that from next month the firm will be working with the charity across England “to show families what active, shared play looks like, and to raise awareness of the vital work the charity does to keep children safe”.
NSPCC chief executive Chris Sherwood added: “At the NSPCC, we’re always looking at ways to help families make screen time better, and this partnership with Nex Playground is a natural extension of that work.
“As a charity, we are focused on helping parents navigate family screen time with greater confidence, supporting them to make choices that enable their children to learn, develop, and thrive in a digital world.
“This partnership will support these aims and also provide us with important financial support which will help us to carry out our vital work to keep children safe, both online and offline.”
