ShareAction’s Workforce Disclosure Initiative (WDI) has reported that it has now had exchanges with over 240 companies headquartered in 23 countries regarding the measuring, monitoring and caring for their workforce.
Corporate attention appears to have increased as investors backing the WDI have increased, and the signatory group now stands at 120 investment institutions - representing more than $13 trillion of assets under management.
According to ShareAction human resources and procurement teams in the companies interviewed say they are now looking at matters more holistically. To help facilitate this transition, ShareAction has created ‘scorecards’ for companies that participated in WDI 2018, helping them and the investor signatories benchmark the level of completeness of their response compared to peers.
Scoring companies will help everyone understand workforce challenges and good practice, and ultimately how to improve the working lives of people all over the world.
