Clinical trials recruitment firm names hospice as charity partner

Clinical trials recruitment firm Innovative Trials has named Garden House Hospice Care as its charity partner for 2025/26.

The Letchworth Garden City-based charity is located near to the firm’s headquarters and offers in-patient care, community hubs and a local volunteer scheme to tackle loneliness.

Money raised will go towards the hospice’s £7.7m a year running costs.

“Research suggests about 55,000 people aged 18-40 in England live with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, but we know this figure is likely to be much higher,” said Innovative Trials founder and chief executive Kate Shaw.

“The number of children diagnosed with such a condition alone has increased significantly since 2000 and is predicted to continue rising.

"The work that Garden House Hospice Care does makes a big difference to people’s lives across Hertfordshire, but we know many hospices are finding the current financial climate challenging.

"We hope our fundraising and support efforts over the next year can help to ensure the charity’s vital work continues.”

The hospice’s director of strategy, transformation, income generation and marcomms Carla Pilsworth added: “At Garden House Hospice Care, we’ve always stood for compassion, dignity, and support.

"But the world is changing. People are living longer, often with complex, long-term conditions.

"Support from charity partners is more important than ever to sustain our vital work at the hospice and out in the community.

“We’re so grateful to Innovative Trials for choosing Garden House as their charity partner for 2025/26 – every penny raised will make a huge difference to the lives of local people and their loved ones across North Hertfordshire, Stevenage and beyond.”
