Nisa’s registered charity, Making a Difference Locally (MADL), raises money for local communities and of the first week of November it has declared that it has now raised more than £11m over its 11 year existence, boosted by changes made earlier this year to the way the charity is funded.
In January, MADL introduced a new funding model whereby all Co-op own label products sold in Nisa stores would carry a 0.6 per cent donation to MADL, in addition to the existing contribution from all Heritage own label products and money raised via MADL collecting tins – raising further funds for retailers to donate locally.
Nisa’s head of charity, Kate Carroll, said: “We know that even relatively small donations can make a huge difference to local charities and communities, particularly in terms of social impact, and we look forward to providing even more support over the years to come.”
