Legal firm renews partnership with NGO body

Law firm Russell-Cooke has renewed its partnership with international development charity membership body Bond to continue providing legal support to charities and NGOs.

Advice through the link up covers issues such as mergers, governance, fundraising, data protection, property transactions, regulation and help for those undergoing Charity Commission investigations.

It will also continue to work with Bond on events to share good legal practice. Events to already take place have covered themes such as employment and charity law protection and governance duties.

“We are thrilled to be continuing our partnership with Russell Cooke,” said Bond director of membership and communications Michael Wright.

“Through insightful events and expert guidance, Russell Cooke has already equipped our members with the knowledge they need to navigate an evolving legal and regulatory environment.

“We look forward to continuing to work together to provide timely, practical support on issues that matter most to organisations in international development.”

Carla Whalen, partner in Russell Cooke’s charity law and not for profit team, added: “As reforms such as the Employment Rights Act reshape the UK employment landscape, organisations are having to rethink how they structure, support and sustain their workforces while continuing to deliver impact overseas.

“This partnership allows us to share timely legal insight that not only helps organisations stay compliant but supports them to adapt with confidence.”
