London Legal Walk

Law firm Fieldfisher has partnered long-term charity partner the National Deaf Children’s Society to take on the London Legal Walk, completing a 10km walk through the historic Royal Parks and raising funds for the charity’s work supporting deaf children.

Fieldfisher has had a long-term pro bono partnership with the National Deaf Children’s Society, and the two organisations recently celebrated their five-year anniversary. During the course of its partnership with the National Deaf Children’s Society, Fieldfisher has fought to get deaf children the education support they need to succeed in life, the firm has supported over 50 deaf children, committed 70 lawyers and provided over £750,000 worth of legal advice.

The London Legal Walk is an annual event organised by the London Legal Support Trust, and this year 15,000 lawyers in 886 teams raised money in aid of charities who provide free legal advice in London and the South East. It has been estimated that the walkers have raised a total of £850,000 so far for their various chosen charities.

Catriona Filmer, Fieldfisher’s Head of Pro Bono, added: “Our lawyers gain so much through our partnership with the National Deaf Children's Society. It gives us the opportunity to open doors to educational opportunities that would otherwise be denied to deaf children.”
