Chemicals firm ReAgent has launched its charitable arm, to be funded by the firm’s profits and to support causes “that align with our core values of responsibility, integrity and community”.
ReAgent Foundation will focus on improving the lives of those suffering from life-altering illnesses, promoting science, technology, engineering and maths education, and protecting the environment.
The three charities to benefit from the Foundation’s work this year are MS-UK, which helps people with multiple sclerosis, the Science Museum and the Snowdonia Society, which protects the environment in the Welsh mountain range.
Support will include staff volunteering at the charities, who will also benefit from fundraising events. The first fundraiser will be through staff taking part in the 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge, which involves hiking Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.
“The Foundation allows us to channel ReAgent’s success into meaningful impact,” said Rich Hudson, chief executive of ReAgent Chemical Services and chair of the foundation.
“We believe that good business should lead to good outcomes; not just for our customers, but for our communities and the world around us.”
