Airport hands local charities and groups £100,000 over last year

Glasgow Airport handed local community groups and charities £100,000 over the last year, its latest figures show.

Through its FlightPath Fund it awarded the funding to groups and charities across Renfrewshire, Glasgow, and East and West Dunbartonshire during 2025.

More than 40 organisations received money focusing on improving employability, education and environmental sustainability in their area.

This includes £4,5000 to Ocean Trust (£4,500) for marine conservation initiatives, £3,5000 to PAGGS (Paisley and District Scouts with Girl Guiding Paisley) to support youth development, and Renfrewshire Carers Centre has been handed £4,800 for its Study Buddies programme to help young carers access tutoring and technology.

The projects funded “show the breadth of impact the fund has across our communities”, said Bob Grant, chair of the fund.

Mark Beveridge, managing director of Glasgow Airport, added: “The FlightPath Fund is a cornerstone of our commitment to being a responsible neighbour.”

The airport added that passengers “play a vital role in supporting the fund”, raising £8,100 during 2024 through donation globes in the terminal.

Applications for the first-round of funding in 2026 open this month.

The fund was set up in 2010 to support local charities and groups. Since its launch it has handed £1.9m to more than 800 projects.
