The UN is sounding the alarm over the levels of chemical pollution across the globe. Seeking to alert policymakers and other stakeholders to the critical role of the management of chemicals and waste in sustainable development it has released the Global Chemicals Outlook II report.
The document admits that the global goal to minimize adverse impacts of chemicals and waste will not be achieved by 2020, citing the need for greater worldwide action by all stakeholders to avoid further delay.
The full Global Chemicals Outlook II will be launched in April 2019 at the third meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group of the International Conference on Chemicals Management.
