The UK’s largest social landlord Clarion Housing Group has raised £102,535 for the NSPCC during the first year of its three-year corporate partnership.
This is just over the partnership’s target of raising £100,000 in the first year.
Fundraising for the children’s charity has included six members of Clarion’s Manchester based development team cycling 450km from Saigon in Vietnam to Angkor Wat in Cambodia, which raised £32,000.
Staff have also volunteered more than 400 hours of their time, including taking part in bucket collections.
In addition, its in-house repairs team members gave the NSPCC’s Childline helpline London base a refresh too create a more welcoming space for volunteers.
Also, during the first year of the partnership, which launched in June 2024, almost 300 Clarion employees have completed training on how to spot the signs of child abuse and offer support to children and families.
Clarion aims to raise £125,000 for the charity during the second year of the partnership, to mark the housing association’s 125th anniversary.
Clare Miller, Clarion Housing Group’s chief executive said: “As we mark our 125th anniversary, as well as reflecting on the past, we’re looking to the future and we’re proud to be supporting the next generation through our partnership with the NSPCC.
“Thanks to all our colleagues, but especially the brave team of six who cycled from Vietnam to Cambodia, we’ve exceeded our fundraising target for the first year, and I’m excited to see how we make an even bigger difference over the next two years, both through fundraising and volunteering.”
NSPCC chief executive Chris Sherwood added: “Everyone at the NSPCC is hugely grateful for their support, and we look forward to seeing the fundraising challenges and events the Clarion teams take on in the next year of the partnership”
