Extra MSA, which runs motorway service stations across the UK, has formed a partnership with charity Air Ambulances UK, which represents 21 air ambulance charities across the country.
The partnership aims to raise £250,000 this year to support the work of the charities to provide emergency lifesaving support.
Most of their missions are funded almost entirely by donations. Each mission costs £4,165 and on average 134 of these are carried out nationally each day.
Customers at the service stations will be asked to make donations, and fundraising activities will take place through the year. Staff will also be involved in raising money.
"We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Extra MSA as a national partner,” said Air Ambulances UK head of corporate fundraising Mark Heaven.
“Their commitment to going the extra mile for the lifesaving air ambulance charities is exactly the kind of support that helps keep them flying and critical care teams ready to respond.
“This partnership has the power to save lives, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone at Extra MSA for backing our mission."
Extra MSA chief executive Tom Dobson said the charity makes “a real difference every day” to people’s lives.
“That’s why we chose to partner with Air Ambulances UK and through the support of our teams, partners, and customers, we aim to raise £250,000 this year and shine a spotlight on the incredible work of air ambulance charities,” he added.
“We look forward to working closely together and ensure that critical care reaches those who need it most."
