Home improvement platform Checkatrade is to support the charity Band of Builders, which helps construction industry workers and their families during life changing or unexpected circumstances, during 2026.
Checkatrade says the charity has been chosen as its partner for the year as it offers vital support to tradespeople impacted by illness, injury or hardship.
The partnership will see the platform work with the charity to raise awareness of support available to tradespeople and their families, share real life stories of how the charity’s support helps and encourage fundraising and volunteering.
“This partnership is rooted in shared values,” said the platform’s head of trade engagement Emma Grant.
“We work with thousands of tradespeople across the UK and we see the dedication and resilience in the industry every day.
“We’ve already joined some of the fantastic events Band of Builders have set up as volunteers and know that partnering with them will allow us to give something meaningful back and to support the people behind the tools when they need it most.”
Band of Builders chief executive Gavin Crane added: “Band of Builders was founded in 2016 and exists to support tradespeople at their most difficult moments, and this partnership with Checkatrade will help us reach even more people who may need our help.
“It’s incredibly powerful when the trade community comes together to support its own, and we’re proud to be working with a partner that truly understands the realities of life in the trades.”
“As well as providing practical assistance, BoB also offers wellbeing support, including a text service (text BOB to 85258), and financial help.”
