Electric vehicle charging form Hydra EVC has installing four charging points for free at a visitor attraction that is run by a charity that supports people with learning disabilities and autism.
The points have been installed at Aldingbourne Trust’s Aldingbourne Country Centre, near Chichester, West Sussex.
All infrastructure costs for installing the points have been covered by Hydra.
The four charging points, including dual output 40kW and 22kW models, are located at the Centre’s visitor car park and are available to visitors, staff and the local community.
Hydra installed the points with installation partner MB Electrical EV.
Through the link up with the charity Hydra is covering all hardware, installation, maintenance and remote management costs. Also, the charity receives a share of all charging revenue generated at the site.
“Aldingbourne does extraordinary work on a tight budget, and they shouldn’t have to choose between maintaining services and investing in infrastructure,” said Steven South, Hydra EVC chief executive and founder.
Aldingbourne commercial and operations manager Chris Davis added that the charging points “will make a lasting difference to our site”.
The centre attracts more than 80,000 visitors a year, is open seven days a week and includes an open farm, cafe, soft play and woodland walks. All income supports the Trust’s work supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism. This includes helping people find paid and voluntary work.
