Celebrating the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement, AXA’s CEO Thomas Buberl called for a new alliance of climate responsible insurers to create a “Net-Zero Underwriting Alliance”.

AXA proposes that the UN-convened “Net-Zero Underwriting Alliance” would collectively increase the commitment to climate neutrality in the insurance business, and furthermore has proposed that this Alliance be created ahead of COP26 in order to enshrine, in the “Glasgow Agreement”, the role of private finance as a key enabler to achieve the transition to a low carbon economy.
