Homelessness charity to be Christmas partner for famous London street

Homelessness charity Centrepoint has been named as the official Christmas charity partner for Carnaby Street.

The move between the charity and West End of London property firm Shaftesbury Capital, which owns shops, bars, flats and offices across the area, includes fundraising activity during its Christmas lights switch on that takes place tonight (6 November).

Also the street’s restaurants, bars and shops, including its famous fashion stores, will be supporting the charity with QR activated donation points in the run up to Christmas to encourage visitors and shoppers to support the charity.

Through the partnership fundraising activities will take place at Kingly Court in Soho.

“As the official charity partner of Carnaby Street this festive season, Centrepoint is committed to ending youth homelessness and advocating for systemic change that will give every young person a fair chance in life,” said the charity.

“The partnership aims to raise awareness of youth homelessness and amplify the impact of Centrepoint’s life-changing work.”

Alongside partners the charity supports more than 15,000 young people a year with safe housing, one-to-one support, and access to counselling, education, training and employment opportunities.
