Russell Hobbs links up with global humanitarian charity

Kitchen appliances firm Russell Hobbs has launched a three-year partnership with global humanitarian charity Action Against Hunger.

It aims to give at least £270,000 to the charity to support its work ending hunger and malnutrition.

The charity operates in 56 countries and last year supported 26.5m people through frontline emergency responses and long-term programmes.

The partnership’s campaign slogan is Make a Meal Difference with awareness raising activity taking part in the UK, Australia, Germany, Spain and Poland.

“We are proud to partner with Action Against Hunger,” said Tim Wright, who is global president of home and personal care at Russell Hobbs’ parent company Spectrum Brands.

“Together, we want to drive real change, helping communities across the globe to gain the skills and knowledge to make healthy, cost-effective meals for years to come.”

Action Against Hunger executive director Jean-Michel Grand said that the partnership “will highlight the importance of good nutrition and the urgent need to ensure every family has access to the food they need to thrive”.

"With conflicts rising and aid budgets shrinking, more children than ever are facing crisis levels of hunger, he added.

“Funds raised through this partnership will help us reach those most at risk, and working alongside Russell Hobbs, we can expand our impact in the fight against malnutrition."
