Cambridgeshire Community Foundation has been named as the official charity partner for Newmarket Racecourses' July Festival.
The charity raises funds and awards grants to local non-profit organisations tackling the “most critical needs of” communities in the county.
Since being founded 21 years ago the Foundation has awarded £39m to local charity and community projects through 10,000 grants.
As well as fundraising at the event, staff at the Racecourse will take part in volunteering for the Foundation.
“The funds raised will help us continue to support small, grassroots initiatives that are making a real difference in our community but may otherwise struggle to find funding,” said the Foundation’s chief executive Michael O’Toole.
“We support a range of causes, from mental health and homelessness to social isolation and environmental conservation.”
Sophie Able, Newmarket Racecourses & international director at The Jockey Club, added: “It is fantastic that the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation will be our Official Charity Partner at the Debenhams July Festival in 2025.
“The three-day Debenhams July Festival is our summer highlight here at Newmarket and offers a brilliant opportunity to showcase the Foundation’s outstanding work in the community throughout the county of Cambridgeshire.
“I am very pleased to say that a number of staff from Newmarket Racecourses will be working on volunteer days with the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation in the build-up to the Debenhams July Festival and the onwards throughout the year.”
