Levi’s stores name cancer support charity as partner

Levi’s stores in the North East of England are to carry out fundraising activities for cancer support charity Team Solan.

The 12 stores across the region have selected the County Durham based charity as its official partner, after it was nominated by a staff member who had been helped by Team Solan.

The partnership will involve stock donations, merchandising support and community fundraising.

This includes a ‘10 by 10’ summer initiative, which will see 10 stores host an endurance cycling event outside their shopfronts, with a target of together raising £10,000 for the charity.

Levis staff will collectively aim to cycle the stationary bikes 2,500km over the summer, inviting customers to donate via R codes and contactless payment points.

Store supervisor Sarah Montanarini nominated the charity after it supported her during her husband’s treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

“Team Solan was there for me in a way no one else could be,” she said.

“Their support was not just practical, but deeply personal, and helped us through an incredibly difficult time. This campaign is my way of giving something back.”

Fundraising will take place at stores in Leeds, Newcastle, Castleford, Edinburgh and York among other places from May to September.

Team Solan founder Mark Solan said the support of the stores in the region is “nothing short of transformative”.

“This goes well beyond financial backing. It is about community, dignity, and helping people feel seen at one of the hardest moments in their lives. We’re deeply grateful to have their support.”
