Age UK Bolton has been chosen as an official business partner of the town’s football club Bolton Wanderers.
The League One club will promote the charity through awareness raising and also help recruit volunteers.
“This partnership with Bolton Wanderers is about more than profile — it’s about purpose,” said Age UK Bolton chief executive Lauren McKechnie.
“We want Age UK Bolton to be seen, felt, and known in every corner of our borough — as the go-to organisation for older people and those who care about them. This partnership helps us take that next step.”
The charity’s chair John Cooper added: “We want to open up new opportunities to grow support, build deeper connections, and ensure Age UK Bolton is here for every older person who needs us — now and in the future.”
The link up builds on Age UK Bolton’s existing collaboration with the club’s charitable arm Bolton Wanderers in the Community.
Bolton Wanderers’ head of commercial Carl Sanderson, said, “We’re proud to be working with Age UK Bolton — an organisation that shares our values and makes a real difference across the borough.
“This partnership highlights the Club’s belief in intergenerational impact and the power of connection between young and old. We take great pride in standing alongside Age UK Bolton to champion older people and build a stronger, more inclusive Bolton for everyone.”
