Insurers donate 500 hours to local charities

The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) has announced that a total of 500 hours has been donated by its members to charitable projects during its annual Week of Giving.

Held in October, over 200 volunteers representing a broad range of companies from within the insurance industry contributed 500 hours of volunteer service. Cities offering volunteering projects this year grew to include London, Brighton, Manchester and Glasgow, allowing industry volunteers to give back to the communities where they live and work while supporting charities providing vital services at the local level.

Across these cities, a total of 16 non-profits were supported across 23 different projects. These projects included employability workshops for The Girls Network and Key4Life, hosted by Chubb and KPMG respectively.

Stephen Bryans, a partner at KPMG said: “KPMG considers its collaboration with IICF to be an important part of its overall corporate responsibility agenda. We have common objectives around the importance of improved social mobility and are committed to working together to achieve these objectives drawing on KPMG’s and IICF’s investment in the insurance community.”
